The Pillar NAS product line is part of an architecture that has been designed from the ground up to deliver a completely integrated unified storage platform. The Axiom Storage Platform provides a file based option in addition to traditional block based storage. Built on top of and leveraging Pillar's unique QoS Block Services layer and distributed RAID architecture, Pillar Axiom products offer a highly scalable NFS and CIFS file service that takes advantage of Pillar's exclusive policy based data placement supporting high performance FC drives, high capacity SATA, and SSD's for critical response time sensitive/IO intensive data.
Say goodbye to filer sprawl! Unlike traditional NAS designs where capacity growth is typically limited by performance considerations - thus limiting the scale of traditional filers - the Pillar approach using distributed RAID architecture and full active/active multi-nodal file data movers (Slammers) combine to deliver near-linear performance and bandwidth increases as capacity is added.
