Pillar Data Systems Moves to City Base and Boosts Management Team

Central London move brings storage supplier closer to customers

Pillar Data Systems, a leading provider of enterprise network storage systems, has moved its offices from Reading to the City of London in response to growing demand from customers based in the capital.

The move comes shortly after the company, which has been trading in the UK market for just nine months, announced its hundredth global customer in June this year. Pillar has been experiencing growth rates of in excess of 60% over the first two quarters of this year.

In addition to the change in location, two senior members of the sales team are taking on additional duties. Chris Jones is heading up the EMEA sales team, while Andy Jacques is moving from his role as director of business development to lead the sales effort in the Northern Europe region.

The two have more than 30 years of experience within the storage industry between them, including EMC and Veritas, and have been with Pillar since its launch in Europe in 2005.

The London office will support the existing European headquarters in Drogheda, north of Dublin and other offices in Paris and Munich.

"Pillar has had a demo centre in the city of London for some months, which has proved a popular site for meetings and presenting how our storage technology works," said Chris Jones, at Pillar Data Systems. "Centralising our sales, presales and marketing teams here as well just makes sense. The new location brings the team closer to the majority of our customers, which helps us do business more effectively and ensures they get the best levels of service in return."
